Does anyone know the right part # for the hood my local dodge dealer said they need a vin for a srt 10 truck to make sure its the right hood and they have never sold one (small town ohio)

I can not find the reciept for the SRT hood I bought in '04, and the few sites I looked through on the net only gave the price with no PN. I would think any parts man that knows what he is doing can find the PN with a little bit of trying. Tell him to look in the acc. catalog, and that is a real book so if does not need a Vin to look a PN up.

my local dodge dealer is not the greatest but they give me very good prices so I try to use them they quoted me $505 he just was not sure if it was the right one

if i am going to d it i want to change the color of the hood and grill to black and for the $150 I would rather have he hole hood

There is only one SRT 10 hood. I think you can order the hood complete with the scoop assembly or without so that may be the difference the parts guy is seeing. That or he has the SRT hood confused with the rumble bee style hood. That $500 price sounds good, the prices on the hoods I found online were around $470 not counting shipping.

When I bought my SRT hood it was around $750 or there-a-bouts complete with the scoop/grill assembly.

my dodge dealer is realy wierd they say they need a part # dont know why all they need to do is call or look it up I they are just lazy i think

Below is a cut/paste from another thread I posted several years back:

Here is what I put together on my truck. Below are the part numbers and list price (You can usually pay less if you are connected). Got about $1900 total in my project. I had the Sport Bumper pkg so I did not need the rebar that is behind the bumper cover.

HOOD:

SRT-10 Hood... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... 5029 419AE... ... ... 600. 00

Scoop molding (includes grill)... ... ... ... ... . YL23TZZAB... ... ... ... 174. 00

Grill for scoop (if want to order spare)... 5029484AB... ... ..... 23. 85

SRT-10 Hood pad ("Viper")... ... ... ... ... ..... 55350891AC... ... ... 68. 50

If you order the scoop molding you will not have to order the grill separately as it is included with the molding pkg. The hood pad fits around the scoop underside but it also has "Viper" embossed on it (I say that its a Cummins Viper ).

The hood (metal - black e-coat), scoop molding (hard black plastic), and bumper Cover (flexible material) will need to be painted body color. I had it done for $350. The Bumper cover mount tab had to be trimmed in the area of the condenser edges. This cannot be seen with the hood closed.

BUMPER COVER:

Bumper Cover... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... 5030 101AB... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... 215. 00

Bumper Cover Grill-Rt/L side... ... ... ... ... ... . YX64XXXAB/YX65XXXAB... ... ... 41. 45 ea

Lower Fascia (in wheel well)-Rt/L side... . 5029920AA/5029921AA... ..... 63. 95 ea

Upper Fascia (on top of rebar)... ... ... ... ... 5029625AB... ... ... ... ... ..... ... ... 22. 00

Fasteners for Upper Fascia (need 5)... ... . 6030441... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... 1. 75 ea

License Plate Bracket... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... 5029500AA... . ... ... ... ... ... ... ... 47. 95

The above can be driven as is but I decided to order the lower brace because the bumper cover seemed to shake easy on the bottom... The viper trucks' lower lip is solid. (The parts below and the lower fascias need mounting bolts which I bought at NAPA - don't have those #'s anymore):

Bumper Cover underbody panel... ... ... ..... 5029611-AC... ... ... ... ... 430. 00

Panel front support brace... ... ... ... ... ... ..... 55077222-AA... ... ... ..... 22. 20

Frame to Panel brackets (need 2)... ... ..... 5029612-AA... ... ... ..... 36. 60 ea

Don't order the "Frame to Panel Brackets" unless you don't mind bending them to fit (not a big deal but still a pain). The SRT-10s' frame (the 1500 frame) is different that the 2500/3500. I originally thought that they mounted to the side but they go around the frame! Otherwise everything bolted right up!

And for the non-Cummins people (I bought these thinking I could make them fit... did not know that they were entirely 1 hard plastic piece... the Cummins intercoller is in the way. Any of the gas motor people need a set?):

Brake Duct Cooler-Rt/L... ... ... ... ... ... ... . 5290808AB/5290809AB... ... ... ... 29. 10 ea

I got the SRT 10 hood and scoop molding for $500 and some change from the dealer and had it painted. There is only 1 SRT 10 hood for the 3rd gen trucks,Your parts guy might be new.

When I bought mine new I got mine right from the dealer for about $1050 painted and installed. I would like to make it functional some how.

PART# as of 2 months ago

82208702 is the part# of the hood, scoop bottom & grill kit.

Be careful installing the plastic scoop & grill... ... they use a steel nut on the plastic studs & it WILL TWIST OFF EASILY!!!!
