What is involved in removing and changing the rear brake rotor on a SRW truck? On the front I just removed the caliper, the caliper carrier and then just slipped the old one off and the new one on.

The rear rotor acts like there is something else that needs to be removed before it will come off. I have the caliper off and the carrier off and the rotor won't budge. I've shot some PB Blaster into the wheel lug holes and tapped around with a small hammer but it isn't showing any signs of letting go.

Do I just need to move to a bigger hammer?

It's probably stuck on the centering hub. A heavy rawhide hammer should loosen it up. Then you can clean up the pilot hole and it will come off more easily the next time.

I made sure the emergency / parking brake was off. My suspicion is that rscurtis is right and the rotor is stuck to the centering hub. I'll keep juicing it with PB Blaster - maybe loosen the lug nuts a little, back up and hit the brakes... just kidding...

Ok, so, I used a large zip tie to hold the caliper up out of the way and just ended up smacking it on the back side a couple of times with a 5 lb. shop hammer. It couldn't resist and popped right off.

Thanks for all the help.
