Stabco Repower: stabco@bbc.net is offering turbo housings
at discount prices for TDR members. I am thinking of purchasing a housing
from them and does anyone know any thing about Stabco or have they purchased
anything from them before? They've got the 16cm2 I'd like to try for $145, can anyone do better? Thanks, Alan...

Yes, I've recently purchased a 16cm2 turbo from Luke Stabnow - stabco@bbc.net, used paypal like he suggested.

Great service, fast response, great price, genuine holset turbo housing.

No issues. Took me about 2 hours (45 minutes of waiting for penatrating oil) since I have never done the swap. I recommend just taking the housing and turbo all the way off the motor, use penetrating oil between the housing and bearing assembly, and go do something for a while. Unless tapping gets yours to come off quickly.

Excellent results. Down from a stock 18. 5cm2. Less smoke with the same fuel because the turbo spools quicker. Longer flatter power curve, rather than the kick that 18cm2 was giving me. Easier to lug around in 3rd and 4th without smoking things up. Waiting on the injector backorder... .

Thanks, Jon.

I ordered the 16CM2 from Stabco too. It comes with all the gaskets, including the turbo oil drain line. Great tech support too.
