Ok, I would love to add stacks to my truck and someday I will, but right now I just don't have the $.

Anyways when I first found out about people running stacks on CTD's the only method I saw used was the in-bed plumbing.

Now that I'm getting to some events, and seeing more CTD's I'm seeing that there are 2 different ways to do it.

I had originally planned to plumb mine in the bed, but now I wonder which would be better/easier/cost less.

Just wondering for any of you who have stacks or have researched adding stacks.

Should you only cut 1 hole in your precious baby and plumb the pipe in the bed?

Or should you cut 2 holes in your precious baby and only have the stacks themselves sticking up?

Either way could be nicely concealed with a piece of Diamond plate and a plasma cutter!:D

There was and is a rampant wave of stackitis running amuck amongst the M-D TDR members,,It was all started by that trouble maker Oasis-3 himself,LOL,,Seriuosly now, drop Cliff a note he has one of the cleanest stack setups I've seen and has a parts list will all the necessary parts right down to the clamps needed to do it,,His setup is one whole thru the bed and duals,,If you do not get the list from him email me and I'll scan it and send it to you... ..... Andy

P. S. -Do a search in the readers rigs,he has a complete set of photo's up and the list for the stacks,,Bad Cliff,Bad Cliff, more wives will be a huntin him down again,LOL... ... ... .

Once I have made up my mind for sure that I want to do the stacks. I will have a friend of mine do 1 plasma cut hole in the bed and plumb the twin stacks from there. I have the 1 lid style tool box that I will slide toward the tailgate to make room. Between the front of the bed and tool box, I will use a piece of diamond plate with the 2-5" holes to cover the space.

Also these will be the curve tips stacks. And the only thing that will stick above the cab is the curves and turned about 45* out...

Hammer, yeah I know all about Cliff's stacks. I bugged him for a couple of weeks back when I first joined TDR. He told me as soon as I had the money to come up one weekend and I'd go home with stacks. :-laf 700 miles is a long drive though!:{

I have his list saved on my Computer. I called a lot of the local places where you would be able to get this stuff, and they were like "Where did you get THOSE prices"

Now that I've seen both ways of doing it though I'm not sure which one I will want to do once I get the $$.

NOT asking for a parts list!

this thread has it all, I just used the list from Oasis-3 and it was perfect, cost was 500 clamc and I am very happy :D  :)

the thread is here https://www.turbodieselregister.com...s=&threadid=32614&highlight=stacks+parts+list

Whitmore I appreciate the reply, but I'm not looking for a parts list. I know that the list exist's.

My sole purpose of this thread was to ask the opinion of members on running the plumbing in the bed or under it.

Got Smoke

The parts list from Oasis3 will work for over the frame installe or in the bed install, from what I observed while doing mine if you did it over the frame than the elbo that comes from the muffler will be too low ... about 6 to 8 inches. Meaning that your muffler would have to hang quite low.

I hope this info helps. order the parts and you will see what I mean... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... . Kevin
