Here's a link to some higher resolution pictures: Stack Pictures

The other mods Kurt installed are: DDIIs, KS B-1 turbo, SB OFE clutch, Comp box, lift pump relocated. I'll post my first experience towing with these mods in the Towing section.

Cool Stacks

 I like em!

Are those 4 or 5 inch?? Any mufflers? Really nice job!!

I notice those aggressive tire treads. What kind of tires are those? Like em? (I'm about due for new tires

They are 5".

Yes, I've got a big muffler on it. Should have taken a picture of it. I'll try to get one.

Tires are Interco TRXUS. They suck on the road but are very good in snow and mud.

Very nice plumbing job, but is it my monitor, or do your stacks look real dark, like black chrome? Do I need glasses?

Later, Rob

Oh yea, they look great, I was just wondering, never saw that before. If it is black chrome, where did you find them?

Later, Rob

They are painted black. Thought I'd try something different.

They are painted with cheep high-temp engine paint from Wal-Mart. They turned out nice, so I'll repaint them with some better paint, or powder coat them, when they start looking bad.

I have thought about the stacks a couple times, but I just don't see the wife going for it. Besides hauling lumber is sometimes a major thing with me. I need all the room I can get. :D

That is a nice looking job though.

trxus sux on road?

NICE looking stack job, PUFF. Forgive the diversion but I was seriously considering TRXUS muds like yours for my 2500 4x4 285/75/16 have super nice high weight rating (3700# + ??) Please describe the roadability deficincies PLEASE. Or anyone else either>>

thank you... PS would you recomend an alternative? I have the stock 8 x 16 alum rims. . :) :) :)

wmachle: The TRXUS have a significant vibration from 55-70 mph. I had BFG TA's on my last truck -- I think they were 295/75/16 -- and they did not have any vibration. It's possible that I have an out-of-round tire causing the vibration, but I have a lot of experience with Swampers and although disappointing, this vibration doesn't seem unusual for Swampers. I had hoped Interco would have put a little more effort and thought into these so they would be streetable, but my set suck on the dry road. However, they are very good in snow.

If I had to give you some advice, I'd say stick with BFG's -- either the TA's or the Muds.

Awesome

I really like those stacks. Like someone else said it might be hard to get past the wife. Are they louder than stock? Do you gat any drone at speed? What does that cost to do$$ Thanks Puff;)

HTRDHLR: They are louder than stock even with a big muffler, but the sound is a nice deep rumble. When not towing the noise is not bad at all, and there is not really a drone; but when towing they are louder, and there is a loud drone in 6th gear until you get over 1900 rpm. Price for materials will run you about $600 +/- a couple hundred.
