I saw a set on a Ram when I was on vacation. It was a double stack set up and looked really cool. How much and where to get the parts? What has to be done to the truck?

Yes they are worth it. As far as parts go im not sure I got a kit from Rob Thomas on this site. If you get a kit from him it has ever thing you need. The hardest part was taking the stuck stuff off. Personaly I dont really care for the single stack that some people go with but hey what ever tickels there pikel.

deffintley go with stacks, i will never own another diesel w/o them! do a search for "Rob Thomas" and read for yourself how satisfied they are with the stack kits he makes.....

I just helped a friend "stack" his truck last Saturday. Cut the old stuff off, cut a hole in the bed, weld (or clamp) the new stuff together, and you've got stacks. Not difficult at all, just time consuming. Make SURE you measure for that hole in the bed twice...

Another option is to run the stacks completely outside the bed, right behind the cab. I personally don't like this look as much, but if you need your entire bed, it'll let you run stacks without losing any bed space.

Keep us posted on what you end up doing!

I have the kit Rob Thomas makes and the stacks are self draining. For a better description pm Rob, but basically the stacks have a pipe inside them that allow the water to drain out the small gaps where the stacks clamp onto the horizontal pipe. Never had any soot on my bed and I have the miter cuts. Have heard that turnouts do a better job keeping the water out.

R they worth it? I don't know. . . all I know is I'm having a devil of a time arguing with myself about getting them. I run with the big trucks, think maybe I should look alittle more like them. If I get them I won't straight pipe, I find it down right rude to come barrelling into a yard full of sleeping drivers in the middle of the night and having to announce ones arrival. By the way, the middle of the night for thousands of drivers can be any time of the day. More times than not I elect to sleep days and run through cities at night in order to avoid the to&from workers crowd. If I had my druthers that is.
