I installed my new stacks today and I love them, I used the Walker list that Oasis3 has and every thing was a perfect fit, I love my stacks :D The exhaust Y is in the box and splits to the sides and then to the stacks, my question or concern now is for my auxellery fueltank/toolbox combo, I had intensions of putting it back in at about 8" back from the front but now have concern over the heat gennerated from the exhaust, they get too hot to hold your hand on so what do you think? Has anyone done this with success ? I think I will put a heat shield between them if I do ... ... ... ..... input needed please ... ... ... ... Kevin

Whitmore we want pictures :D No need for the window up button any more :D

as for the aux. fuel tank I can not help, but I hope you get it worked out.

Good Luck

Have Fun

I'm about to install an aux. fuel tank to mine also. It's my belief, fwiw, that a simple, thin aluminum heat shield will be more than enough, just as long as they don't make direct contact. The aluminum should be able to dissipate heat well enough to help.

I'm also designing a vent system for mine. I have a tank that will enclose the tee and elbows of the exhaust, so radiant heat will be slightly higher due to lack of airflow, thus the need for a vent.

You have a built in fuel heater now !

Hey Kev, I wouldn't sweat putting the tank close to the stacks, just leave a few inches for breathing room. Mine's pretty close to the elbow, the tank surface is just slighty warm to the touch during the heat of summer.

When I installed a Transfer-Flow tank, as I remember the minimum distance from the exhaust system was 2".

I'm waiting for the first TDR member that installs stacks on the outside of the bed so a slide in camper will fit!

Great

I was hoping for responces like this :)

Gizmo- you read my mind on your post ... ... ... ... thats exactly what I intend to do , I also want to make a checker plate or cover for the top of the bed where the stacks come out so I can have a real clean look between the box and cab, therefor I want to add some king of air circulation to help exchange the air out of the dead air space.

As far as pictures I need to get a digital camera so I can show off my STUD truck, I also have a surprise to show all of you if I can get a pic or two

Oasis 3 thank you for the list of needed parts, it was perfect, cost was 518 complete.

Gizmo, let me know what you do for your vent .

I LOVE MY STACKS, and they sound cool:cool: , I left the magnaflow thru muffler in place and am glad I did

Whitmore;

What I'd do is just put some foil-sided insulation on the side of the tank nearest and then have about 2" of clearance between the stacks and the tank.

Welcome to the Stack-Brotherhood :D
