The stacks at Iowa 80 are really nice and heavy ones. Have one on the semi. Have had it for 2-3 yrs. and still looks like new. Made by Dynaflex if I remember right.
I just ordered my new set from IOWA80.com a few weeks ago to replace the set damaged in a wreck on my 97. All the little parts came quickly and I was pleased with that. However the actual stacks where out of stock (no one informed me of this until I called them 2 weeks after ordering) and had to be made. I am STILL waiting on them. I will say this the price really can't be beat to often. And if you want to build your own from scratch I DO reccommend checking them out. But if you are unsure of how to or what to get and do to build a set. Contack Rob Thomas and get a set from him his come (no offense) 'idiot proof'.
i got mine from www.truckchrome.com they came in pretty fast and they werent to expensive i think they were only a couple of bucks cheeper then iowa 80.
I paid $50 each stack NEW- 5 inch any size- 3,4,5 foot tall, angle cut, straight, turn-outs from a Big truck salvage yard called Russ Fisher Truck Parts here in Terre Haute,IN. I think they have a website, lots of good new and used parts. My install pics are on readers rigs. Very simple job, cutting torch and welder are helpful. Bill
I was thinking of putting stacks on my truck but my truck has a plastic bed linner and an aluminum tool box and I think that it would melt that plastic preaty good, not sure if I could trim enough off to do any good or not. I don't want to spend the money on a spray on liner but still need the protection in the bed. Also how close can I get the stacks to my tool box? I was considering puting them on the outside of the bed has any one done this or have any pictures?
I have my stacks on the out side of my flatbed and the pics are in my gallery. As far as how hot they get, I have had no problems with them getting too hot. I not heard of anyone having problems with their spray in liners, and as far as your tool box, you should be able to put it as close as you want. The thing to remember is that the chrome won't get as hot as the galvanized will. Now in the summer when the sun is shinning on it, it can get pretty hot but even then not hot enough to hurt anything.
