a quad cab won't be as bad... add some sound deadener, and it'll be even better...

but don't let anyone fool you into thinking that it's not loud inside the truck...

Forrest

don't get me wrong, they sound awesome... if you're not in the truck all the time, you'll probably love 'em.

when I was only in the truck for 10-30min at a time and mostly around town below 70mph, they were no big deal...

when I was in the truck 4hrs at a time on the highway wanting to stay in the 70-75 range, they whooped my *** :(

Yea I am in the truck 100 miles a day sometimes if I dont drive the eco 4banger car, also I do pull a 28' 5er. I sure do like the looks of them.

it's all personal preference/perception...

they were too loud for me... which is a shame because I LOVED them for about the first 20 minutes or so of driving... about 30min into it, the honeymoon was over... about 35 min into it, I was looking for ear plugs.

if I kept the speed down in the 60-65 range, it wasn't as bad, but up around 70 it started beating on you.

the WORST was maintaining speed coming down a hill... 72mph, powering up a hill, it was a nice clean/crisp sound (still loud), crest the hill and give just enough throttle to maintain speed coming down, and the resonance was insane. this is with a couple hundred lbs of lead sheet lining the interior too

now, I've got a single cab 5sp... if you've got an automatic in that thing (lower RPM on the highway) it might be no biggie at all.

stacks are like an abusive relationship with me... I've run them twice, and they're sitting in the garage tempting me to put them back on. the just sound so good and turn so many heads, you forget about the pain on the highway (untill you're experiencing it again! LOL!)

I do have a 6 speed, did you build your own stacks? I am going to check around and see if I can ride in a truck that has them before I would do a change. Thanks for the info.

I would have to say mine are loud out side the cab but, ihave three different setup and its how you do a single stack was loud inside the cab. it tool a 5 inch pipe and cut a hole in and weld a inlet in it to go though the bed to 90 then used 90 and strapped the stacks to the elbows they are free standing if you do it right my stack have no clamps on it give me a e-mail or somthing if you want detail inst

I am picking up a set of 5 inch mitre cuts this coming weekend crossover is 6x6 tubesteel with 5 inch elbow. I'm a little weary of noise Forrest do you think aeroturbine would help at all?? or am I dreaming
