[Excessive Force]

I would like to finish my exhaust system. I currently have 4" straightpipe from the turbo downpipe, ending about 2' behind the cab. (sound sooo sweet !) I would like to go to 5" stacks, but here are the problems: i would like to put the Y pipe under the bed so as not to interfere with hauling. there doesn't appear to be enough room,plus there is a cross member right in the way. Do i need to put a body lift on to make enough clearance between the frame and bed ? thought about making a "crossover tube" out of 3x5 tubing,but crossmember is still in the way. How'd you guys do it? thanks...

Look up some past posts from a former member unclebilly. He posted some photos of his setup. Pretty strong setup, make the stacks strong like a roll bar LOL...



Basically his is the 4" HSS in the bed of the truck with the stacks clamped to drill pipe welded to the HSS. Then you just poke through the box anywhere if fits with a 3 or 3. 5 pipe to hook up to your existing system. .

I originally wated to go underneath with a Y but decided that it would be way more trouble than it would be worth. The pipe only takes up 5 inches of hauling space. If you are talking about the crossmember in the front of the bed, I took the sawzall right through it.

I know my view is probably not the popular one but I had the same problem you are talking about so I just put one stack on. You know I like it in fact it worked perfectly so that a could put a 36 gal aux fuel tank in beside it and my tool box in front of it and no wasted space. My wife really liked the one stack look. She said it looks better to her than two do. I think she's just a good wife.
