Didn't know where to post this. I'm considering putting on a set of s rocker gaurds, has any one had any experiance with these stick on ss rocker gaurds. Do they stay put? Can they be remove? Are there different qualities? I see most are polished ss but I found one place that offers brushed ss. Any comments would be appreciated. Place to purchase? Thanks

Northwest Custom is the place to buy. Polished or brushed, can cut any design you like. They won't come off!

I like the looks of them but they seem to breed rust, around here a lot of trucks with them on seem to start rusting along the edges, maybe just me but thats the way it seems.

Illl talk to NWcustom in the am. The rust is something I'm concerned about too. I wonder if dirt and moister get caught in these things and then start the rust. Anyone out there with them on their trucks for 4-5 years?

Tardog,

My early '98 has has them on since new (I'm the second owner, though). No rust issues yet. They look good when cleaned and polished. If you catch a corner and bend it out a little you'll never get it back in place completely, though.

I removed the one behind the right rear tire above the exhaust outlet. That was a b**** of a job and I'll never do it again. The 3M adhesive they use is awsome.

My '98 had stainless rocker panels on it when I bought it but I don't know who's. Mine would get small spots of corrosion on them, I had to polish them every few months to keep them looking good - major PIA. Another thing that happened was that several of the corners got bent slightly and knicked the paint on the truck and started corrosion there too. I had them removed and had the rockers sprayed with Permatech bed liner material, zero maintenance and I also don't have to repair any rock chips any more.
