Where do you all get it at? Direct from Stanadyne? Their Web page is out of commission. It seems to be the favorite from what I've seen. I want to run it primarily to improve fuel lubricity and keep the injection pump happy. What is this "PFFP" fuel additive mentioned in the "Prolong Oil Additive" post?

Thanks all!

Vaughn,

You can find more info here:
http://www.fppf.com/welcome_3.htm

I was the one that mentioned the FPPF. I was told that you can get it at major truck stops like flying J. I have not tried it yet, so buyer beware, I just figure that if you can get it at the major truck stops, and it is recommende by someone who has worked with diesels for 30 years, that it might not be the snake oil that everyone else sells.

Anyone else have experience with this FPPF?

Dave

Cummins distributors sell their own additives in a quart bottle. It is called "premium Plus" and is a lubricity/ cleaner and is approved by Cummins for use in their engines. It sells for approx. $9 per quart and treats 125 gallons.
I have used both the Cummins and Stanadyne elixir and notice no improvement at all in performance or fuel mileage, although adding lubrication to the fuel tank really can't hurt. I don't use it around town but when I go on a long, high speed trip, I do use it.
Gasoline engines benifit from a "top oil" too, and I used them for years to lube the valve guides, valves and rings as added protection.
Camperworld sells Stanadyne products and additives also. Sam

I've checked into "PFFP" and found their product "Fuel Power+Lubricity" is comparable to Stanadyne's Performance Formula. Based on pricing by the case, and # of gallons treated, the PFFP product costs 2. 6 cents per gallon of fuel treated. The Stanadyne on special from DIS runs 6. 6 cents per gallon. The real question is whether the PFFP is a quality product considering it's a lot cheaper. I guess I'll try some of both and see what happens!

I found STANADYNE fuel additive at www.dieselpage. Or call 1-880-658-9355.
Contacts: Bill Lintz, Brent Doughty, or Randy Horton. DIESEL INJECTION SERVICE, home office in Lubbock, TX. There is a Stanadyne dealer in Hermiston, Or.

Have you been to the dealer in Hermiston?? Do you have a name/phone #?? Are the prices pretty much the same (or better) as ordering from Lubbock??

I'm only 100 mi. from there and go through fairly often, so that might be a simpler solution than ordering.

Thanks in advance for the help.
