I generally stay out of the additive discussions as I have been given the "snake oil" speech enough times to realize "to each his own". But I have to share my experience from yesterday with you all. My Ram sits in a heated garage most all winter only coming out once in a while and usually only if necessary. The last time I filled the pickup with fuel was back in October 2015 (#2 Diesel). As I have done since the very first fillup I had with this truck back in 2003, I have added 8oz of Stanadyne Performance Formula to the tank with the fillup. Fast forward to January 18, 2016 and I needed to drive the truck on a 180 mile round trip down I-94. The ambient temperature at the time I left was -15F. I was nervous to say the least. I drove the pickup all day with no problems what-so-ever. No matter what Stanadyne states or promises about their Performance Formula, I can attest to its cold weather claims!

As a side note, I run a Mopar cold front on the pickup from Thanksgiving to Easter. Yesterday I ran through an "ice fog" for about 10 to 15 miles. This caused the water temp to climb to about 205. Never thought I would see that at -15F. I had all four panels open on the cold front. I pulled into a rest area and brushed off the thin layer of ice crystals from the opening and all was well again. Besides that, it was interesting to watch EGT go from 400 to about 550F at 70MPH on the interstate. I would normally see 600 to 700F.

Interesting trip. Love Stanadyne!!!

I too have had great results with the Stanadyne PF. Unless I'm traveling where I'll burn through a tank in a few hours, each tank gets half a bottle. Never an issue and never a freeze up, and I've lived in some dang cold places. And due to deployments, my truck has just sat for two years of it's life. Still purrs just like always at 180k now.

Hey Kry226! I've used it from day one on every tank and same as you half a 16oz bottle each time. I keep about 15 empty 16oz bottles and keep refilling them half full from a gallon jug. Even on days of multiple fill-ups, I still put it in every time. I have never found a way to determine if all the attributes of PF are true but the cold weather attribute has never let me down so I trust the rest.

I tell a difference between treated and not treated fuel when I run out of PF on the road, it smokes a little more and drops a little mileage at the same time when I run out.

Great stuff for sure! I to have been using this formula in all my trucks and all my diesel machinery! Never had a problem with it, combined miles of 800,000 miles!!! I buy it in five gallon pails. No injector, fuel pump problems (all original), and no gelling! Well worth the added insurance!

Contrary to popular belief a fuel additive is not just snake oil I bought into the oh you don't need the fuel will be blended properly we had a real cold snap and my truck gelled up so I Am back to running additive every tank again
