Where to buy a Fluidampr?

Hello all,

Does anyone know if these fuel additives actually work, particularly the Stanadyne products? I have been using the performance formula in my 07 Dodge Ram 2500 Megacab since i bought it, mainly for the antigelling feature, but what about everything else it claims it does?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

I've been using their products for about 4 years and haven't had any fuel related problems yet. I don't know if its their products or just dumb luck????? :)

Same here. I really can not say it has helped MPG. The only time I have ever seen a fuel additive help MPG is when I run Howes in the car. Ed B

I haven't noticed any real gain in mpg; but I haven't had a lift pump go out since I started to use it either. I still change the fuel filter every 5k. We also don't have to worry about gell problems down here :D. I guess maybe I just feel better if I use it. Maybe it does more for me than it does the truck. ???????

steved, thanks for that info. I did google it, and found some very interesting results, including this one: Lubricity Additive Study Results - Diesel Place

I highly encourage everyone who wants to know more about additives for diesel to read this thread and the report that goes with it. Very informative.

Thanks everyone for all the positive comments. I'm new to the Diesel world, and still learning all the in's and outs.

I've been using Stanadyne Performance Formula. Get it in half-gallons from a diesel shop (not a performance shop) for $90 or so for a case of 6.

In addition to clearly reducing clatter and smoke, and some seat-of-the-pants smoother stronger running, I have compared mileage with and without several times, towing my 12,000 lb boat trailer. Working hard on the mountainous roads we travel, it seems to improve fuel mileage by maybe 1/2 mpg or a little more, say from 10 to 10. 5 towing. If I'm not deluding myself, it easily pays for itself.

It's harder to tell in my diesel boat, but I use it on the water as well. A small mileage gain saves lots of bucks there.

Stanadyne Performance has been in every single tank of fuel that I have put in my truck since new (even dumped a bottle in before I drove it off of the dealer lot).

I have had not a single fuel issue (other than 4 Lift pump failures taking out VP, but I also ran for 2. 5 years with 0216 and dead pedal, which I feel the stanadyne helped with getting that amount of time).

I have been down to -25deg, unplugged for over 24 hours and did not have any problems. No weather realted problems either.

I belive that it works very well from my experiences.

Hope this helps

Cool... .

I think i'm going to go with a combo of Stanadyne Performance and Stanadyne Lubricity formula, 4ozs each at refuel. I currently use 80z of performance right now.

I am going to throw my 2 cents in here as I am a believer in Stanadyne Performance formula. The day I bought my truck it had about 1/4 tank of fuel. I had bought a bottle as my brother (diesel mechanic) said to. There has not been a fill-up in 6 years without it being added first. I don't know about performance or MPG advantage. What I do know is it has done an outstanding job of keeping me mobile here in the North Dakota winters. My truck gets about 7,000 miles a year on her so fill-ups are about 60 days between. Including winter time. Last fall I filled in November with #2 diesel and did not fuel again until the end of January. I drove in between those dates when the winter beater wouldn't start and that truck sat outside at work, unplugged, for 9 hours a day at about 20 degrees BELOW zero and never gelled with #2. That is my whole experience with Stanadyne Performance Formula that I can say as fact. My Duramax buddy with Howes was not as lucky. Like I said, just my 2 cents.

my 06 3500 now gets opti-lube xpd at every fueling. bought used used with 36,000miles on it. will stay with opti-lube xpd it looked like good stuff from report. just my new two cents. will see what happens

I have had great luck with stanadine. I have bought a bottle for more than 10 of my friends with a request that they give me an honest mileage report. Everyone of them saw a gain in mpg from 1mpg to 2. 5 mpg. I am now a believer and buy it by the case.

I use Stanadyne in every other tank of fuel... ... . haven't had any problems.

Started using this when truck was new dur to recommendation from my brother who had replaced injectors ( upgrades ) on a number of CTD's. He compared the condition of the injectors between trucks that used Stanadyne against those that didn't. In each case ( data set of 5 ) the injectors where in much better shape, cleaner, than those without.

I know this is a small data set... . but... . I figure it was cheap insurance!

Hello

I have used LE and various fuel conditioners. Switched to TDR-WDA from Amalgamated Co, due to hunting in Colorado @ 12000ft in the winter. Great stuff. Comes in 5gl jugs and lasts forever. 3oz per ten gl.

Good luck

JL

TTimmons, it looks like you are an Amsoil Dealer, don't you use their products? I have been using the Cold Weather Start and Cetane Boost (not all the time) but usually in the winter. Can't tell any MPG improvement, but truck runs good and have had no problems starting in cold weather.
