NV5600 Application

I just got my rebuilt and upgraded NV4500 for my 97 dually and its great. Since I haven't had this transmission very long yet I can't say too much about the quality (although I'm sure its great from other posts) but I'd just like to say what a huge help Windell at Standard was to me. When I called with what I needed he got it figured out and gave me a great deal and just to make it that much sweeter he brought me the transmission since he happened to be coming up to Denver for an event. Man that is service. Nothing like saving a bunch on shipping.

Also, when I decided I better do my clutch at the same time I called back and got another good deal and since they were out of stock at the moment Windell made sure one got shipped to me right away (from South Bend Clutch). I just wanted to say a big thanks and let everyone know what great people are down at Standard Transmission.

Also, just for a little info all their rebuilts are upgraded with the fully splined shaft for the 5th gear issue and they all have the cast iron tailhousing for extra strength (a big help if its a 4x4) or if you just need the parts check out their website. They have all sorts of different kits to rebuild a transmission.

I am keeping the old one and rebuilding it when I have time and money and I'm going to put it into my 92. Man I can't wait.

True. They are good to deal with. I installed my fifth one from them 2 weeks ago. 2 burned up in 8000 miles. They were replaced promptly with no questions. The one I have now has a funny rattle at idle. They tell me it's the master cylinder to the clutch. Maybe its gotten a little weak. I'll change that and see if that's the fix. And the fifth gear. At 82K miles I fried that little bugger. Shaft, gear, nut and all. A $1000 to fix it then the transmission goes. Oh well. It's just money, right.

Make sure it's not the infamous idle clatter (do the search on" idle clatter") doing the rattling and not the master cylinder.
