I have been using the standyne fuel treatment for the last 3 weeks. . for about the last 3 days, when i start the motor, when cold... it billows whiteish smoke for about 15 sec and goes away... . think it is the treatment???never had a problem before with this. . maybe too much of it????

I've been using it for many years, buy it in 5gal cans for $200. 00 (. 32/oz) from local injector shop. Keep a used Amsoil quart that's graduated. 6-8oz every fillup = about 27 gals each time in 35 gal tank so there's always a little more than the recommended amount per Mnfr. stated. (8oz to 30gals) Never had any white smoke.

I use it and sell it... never had white smoke issue... seems odd... . i use it every tank in my 12valve and get 150 more miles per tank avg... thinking bout that... 06 & 07 dodge turbos are more likely to blow the oil seal on exhaust side... . usually dont see the smoke because exhaust so hot and not big enuogh leak... wonder if burning residual on start up or cuold be as simple as condesation in the exhaust do to temp changes considering where you live...

White smoke on startup in an indicator of a leaky injector dropping fuel into the cylinder. When I had a leaky injector replaced I was getting white smoke on cold starts for 15-30 seconds while the leaked down fuel burned off. Don't know what role stanadyne would play in it, perhaps just coincidence with the timing?
