hey for the last 3 weeks i have been using and for about last 3 days on first start up in the am the truck smokes a white grayish smoke for about 15 sec... goes away and runs great all the time... too much of the treatment. ???almost like it is running rich... ... thanks... . truck runs fine, no problems... .

I would suspect the Standyne and the smoke is just a coincidence, all the pump and injector rebuilders I have talked to recommend to run it since its made by Bosch, good luck though!

Like Aaron said, the additive will not cause the grey smoke.

Per the Stanadyne website:

Add Stanadyne Additives to tank before filling with diesel fuel to ensure thorough mixing. Tighten bottle cap securely after use and store upright. Store above 32F (0C). All Stanadyne Diesel Fuel Additives can be blended with each other and "double-dosing" is not damaging - although it may not provide twice the benefit. Where engine and vehicle Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) have approved Stanadyne, most of them recommend Stanadyne Performance Formula, which should be used at every refueling year-round to ensure protection against fuel related problems and to maximize performance. For further information or to request a Material Safety Data Sheet call Stanadyne Corporation 1-800-842-2496 or visit www.stanadyne.com.

ok still getting the white smoke on start up, weather is warm... and a bit rough idle for a few sec... very unnoticeable... ... after about 15 sec is goes away and runs fine... . then does again on next morning cold start... . any ideas???? something going bad maybe... i thought it was me adding standyne treatment

maybe the grid heater... if it was not working properly would it throw a code???? I can tell in the winter it worked cause of the voltage drop in the cold

white somke usually means unburnt fuel. This may be the begining of something very costly ie injectors check oil level and smell the oil for fuel. The fuel treatment won't cause this, use it every tank full in three different engines. Laurie
