Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) star wheel adjustment

hey guys just a quick question to confirm adjustment what does moving the star wheel foward ie taking tention off spring and the opposite way do?



some guy bye me said they took the spring and foot and that out completly so there is nothing in the afc housing just wondered what the benefited from it and what down falls were to that or the above adjustments.

taking tension off the spring gives you more fuel before boost kicks in and starts moving the afc foot out of the way, gets the turbo kicking a little faster, a gutted afc probably makes it smoke like a tire fire with nothing but the plate and your foot to regulate fueling
