Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) staring issues have some questions

the other day i got my new injection pump in its a hrvp44. now im having some trouble starting. seems like after the truck sits for a while it doesnt want to start right up. likes to crank a while first. then it fires right up and runs fine. i checked my crossover tube orings and they are fine. i just put in some injectors and new orings and had an issue w/ one leaking compression but it was solved. all connections are tight and should not be leaking. so where am i getting air in? is this just the pump not being totaly bled out yet or do i have a leak somewhere else? i have heard that it happens w/ these trucks that injectors or pumps tend not to get all the air out right away. is that my problem here? let me know what ya'll think my appreciated thanks matt
