ive got a 90 d350 2wd 5spd when the IP went out i swapped it

and the motor will not start except for a few times without spray!

air in the line? ive drove it over 150 miles since swap. still no start w/o spray

i dont know 1st gens that well VPs and ppumps i know.

i need to know the wiring diagram for the headlights p lights etc when i got the truck the wiring was jacked i have no headlite switch !!

what is good oil psi on these motors?? idle and cruise

i think mine is low

What is the outside temp like when it woun't start?, as for oil psi mine runs around 35 to 40 at idle.

Sounds like the timing needs to be advanced. Try loosening everything up and use a ratchet strap to pull the pump top toward the head and report back.

Id say you have a leaky fuel line comeing from the tank , all it takes is a pin hole leak to were it sucks air or fuel bleeds back

Sound's like air in the fuel. Win manual pumping the fuel pump the fuel coming out of the bleed scew above the fuel filter should be clear. On my91 the oil ring on top of the fuel heater was sucking air. Good luck.

My guess its the crappy connection on the plasic line , used rubber slid over the plastic unless you want to spend 30 for the kit at the parts house
