2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Starter blows a fuse

Ignition 30A fuse blows on my '99 as soon as I hit the starter-pull started it and check engine light is on now. . (fuse that blows is OK) Any ideas?

A friend had this problem and it was the contacts in the starter. He just helped replace mine, it would click, then start. His did this and blew the fuse.

Thanks for trying-turns out it was a relay in the black box by the battery that was shorted out. .
