Ok here's the scoop I was running the truck a bit today and came home then shut it down. I just went back out to move it and nothing just a click when the starter is turned (one click) ive got good fuel pressure and all that good stuff. Did the starter die? Its not been acting up at all lately until just now. I bought points and a pin (?) off ebay will this fix my problem?

Thanks

Those contacts and that plunger will indeed fix the problem, they appear to be Larry B pieces, so they are a good product

There are 3 10mm 12pt bolts that hold the starter, and there is one small wire and one larger wire that need removed from the starter to drop it.

Pull the end plate off the starter solenoid and the new parts will be self-explanitory.

Upgraded parts are a good thing but diagnostic's are first, your problum could be battery , connections [ batt. & starter ] , load test batteries and check charging system. then after everything checks out those parts will make everything els work better and longer.

Its not the starter, I jumped the gun! Turns out the cable was corroded!!! GRRR this will get salty tomorrow at you know where!!

Yep I feel like an idiot now.

I ran into the same problem on my Ford. :(

Since you have the new contacts and plunger, I would still put them in, or at least keep them for later. Been there done that. Those are the big contacts. They will last a LONG time. If you do it, makes sure not to loose the litle ball and spring.

Some hints.

Joe Gorilla put the 10mm bolts in at the factory, soooo use a 'cheater bar' on the 10mm wrench/ratchet. Once the bolts 'pop', they come out easily.

Huh, also d/c the negative battery posts (2), no arc welding :-{}

crabman :)
