Starter Contacts and Plunger

I purchased new contacts and a plunger the other day and need some advice.



Who has changed the contacts and plunger out and how hard is it to do? I have the right socket for the starter bolts but need to ask a dumb question.



Where are the contacts located? Are they located in the solinoid houseing?



Any advice would be appreciated before I get to taking the starter apart.

They are on the other end of the big contact bolts, if I remember right. Nothing really tricky in there it seemed pretty obvious. There is a small ball at he end of the motor shaft (OR PLUNGER?) that comes out when you pull it appart.



Sometime last year, there was an article explaining in detail how to do it. I'm sure somebody will fill you in a bit better than I have.
