Clutch Fan Running when engine is cold

Blow by under heavy load when towing....why?

A friend of mine needs a Starter for his ‘04. What do we like? What have we been using with success? I see a new (not rebuilt) Delco on Rock Auto for $200.

TIA

I know it is stressed to use the original which is Denso and you can get rebuild kits, contacts etc. I checked through db's starters and it looks like a house brand. $90ish for a new starter so I don't know how good it is and longevity plus I don't know about rebuild kits. Seem's the main thing that goes out on the Denso is the contacts so you get the Larry B's, install and forget about it. The price of the Denso is the issue.

I bought a new parts store starter (Carquest from Advance Auto) and the LarryB's rebuild kit for the OEM on my 03. I figure I'll use the new one until it quits and then put the rebuilt OEM back in.

Wayne, has he tried the wrecking yards for an original Denso. He has the kit from Geno's, might be able to combine the two.

Dave, slim chance on finding any CTD in any yard around here. If there was one, it would be parted out before it was dropped off the hook.
Last update, I think he found an Amazon retailer that has the new Denso number that Foster referenced for a good price, so I think he went that way.
I’ll update as it goes along.
I asked him to sign up here, but he’s not really the Internet forum type.

Wayne, I had went through all the Denso starters on Amazon and came up dry. Without having that number it does not exist. Put the number in and it comes right up. Lesson learned, a general search does not mean it's not there.

I think mine from Cummins for my 96 was very reasonable, almost $250 cheaper then online popular cummins parts places. I talked to them and there is a local place in NJ that sells them as well, good people over there.

I gave them my pn off quick serve and they cross referenced the number with the right parts and the thing came direct from cummins and had a little chrysler pentastar logo on it and all.

Was a brand new unit.
