Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Starter on Life Support

Need some help need a starter for 01 Dealer is telling me $700. 00 + in parts alone I'm in SoCal. Cummins maybe? Thanks for the help

Know a couple guys that had starter problems they called Larry B's and within a 1/2 hour had in contcts in and starts great it looks easy to replace the contacts.

If all else fails, go to a Cummins shop. $249 for a reman. Larry B sells new Nippon Denso's for like $299-349 +-... .....

I couldn't wait so I went to Cummins & it was like $275 after paying our Govenor.

Order Larry B's super contacts & your problems will be cured until the brushes just flat wear out. The contacts are easy to replace & they & a new plunger are under $40. http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm

Exact same things happened to both my dads and my truck. The contacts were bad in both starters. We got our contact/plunger kits from

www.mrbobsdistributing.com. The kits he has are the same size contacts as stock. LarryB's are a lot bigger. Either way, one of these kits should fix your problem.

Try NAPA, or some other large auto parts... I got mine at a local place... $175 out the door...
