I have a grinding sound when starting, and I hear it spin down, same sound. I never heard her spin down before, she always started on about a half a crank. Now she needs a crank, crank and a half, sounds a little slower too.

Recently I had the #5 conrod bearing go, and I would like to know if this could be related, she was 85% seized up, and I wonder if the shop trying to start her could have killed the starter. She has 101,500k. Never a starting problem before. I have a call into the shop, but any input would be appreciated!!

Thanks again!

Sounds like the starter conntacts are spot welded to gether , or put a nother way , the solinoid is not cutting power to the starter when you let the key go , witch is a comin problum wth these trucks , but it could also be the ing. sw. .
Heres a link to get a kit for the solinoid , if you want to repair yourself , or get a new starter once you confirm what it is.
