Starter Problems

Over the last couple of week my starter has been acting funny, first it hung up and would not disengauge, then the next day it would not engauge, amp gauge pegs out but nothing turning,

i can go out a couple hours latter and it starts no problem, i check on a starter from NAPA 259. 00 for a life time waranty, does anybody have any experiance with these starters ?? what should i lookout for??

ok, i think i've answered my on question, after doing a search it seams this is a common problem, seems the contacks in the selinoid are getting worn throwing of the angle of the piston and hanging up , just pulled my stater off and the contacks are really worn and sitting at an angle, rebuild parts are available..... RD

You may have already solved your problem but I bought a starter from Advanced Auto for around $150 last year. It had a lifetime warranty and hasn't given me any trouble.
