Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) starter question

I did a search on this but didn't really get what I was looking for. My 99 sometimes (more frequent lately) the starter will click and after a few turns of the key it will finally go. Is this related to the contacts or is it time for a new starter? Oh yeah the other day I started the the truck and the starter gear stayed with the flywheel shut the truck off then it was ok.

Sounds like you need new contacts. Like yesterday.

Yup get some new contacts in that thing before it sticks again and doesn't let go. The contacts are dirt cheap compared to a started... . speaking of which I should do mine sometime, it's never acted up, but a little cheap insurance never hurt.
