Im getting an ocasional click when trying to startup, is this a sign of contacts goin bad? any tips on removal of the starter.

Time for Larry B starter contact. Need a 12pt wrench/socket for the starter bolts. Order the contacts then rebuild starter. Pretty easy job to do. Should not take an hour or two if you'ved worked on your truck before. Do it soon cause it's telling you it's time.

sure hope those bolts come out easy, noticed it is kinda oily around and on the starter, any idea where that could be from, hard to tell from under it thanks tom for the link

Put some loctite on the bolts when you put it back in too.

I didn't and I found the starter was holding on by a few threads on 1 bolt 5 or 6 months later.

Got it done, as said contact on starter cable side real thin other one looked ok. what a diff. in how it turnes over now! found leak at line on acces. drive. (hope to be good for another 100,000)
