The other day, I had shut off my truck to talk to a neighbor. When I went to start, the acted as if the battery was dead, but all guages checked out and all everything worked except ignition. I checked everything (except the starter solenoid fuse, the dealer replaced for $100. 00)

Dealer cannot explain this and I cannot establish a pattern.

One morning I replaced the fuse 5x's to start truck

Hey man, let me tell you I went through this for about 3mo. and the starter finally went out during a snow storm. Which I changed out in the middle of this storm. So to answer your question, your starter is getting ready to go out. :{

I want to thank you guys for the help, but, " I got by with a little help from my friends". The starter solenoid has a TSB 08-01-00,

And if your local dealer was a ***** (five star) like they claim to be, they would research this information and be aware of these problems. Instead they charge you $100. 00 to change a fuse with the same fuse that has blown before and is recommended by them to be up sized to a 25amp. Funny how if it wasn't for the internet, we would not be able to repair or manufacturers defects.

P. S. Even though this problem has been recognized to be a under sized wiring installation, the ***** (Five Star) dealers would still honor their parts ($44. 00) and labor charges.

the link is as follows for the proper fix... ... ... ... . free of charge.
