We've all had a giggle over the:

"hey rice boy, my starter has more torque than your engine"

so, does anyone know the torque rating of our starters ?

I could only find the power rating in the manual, which states the starter is rated at 2. 7 KW or 3. 6 HP. If you knew the RPM and electro-mechanical efficiency, you could calculate the output torque since P = T x S.

All the new starters we sell come with a dyno sheet. I just checked one and it shows max torque at 24. 36Nm which converts to 33. 03216 ft/lbs.

Crimony!!! That's over half of 52ft lbs max torque put out by my old Rabbit 1. 5L diesel on a good day... .
