any difference between the manual trans and the auto trans starters ? on my project truck i need to buy a starter and i have got a 2000 bell housing and engine adapter for my nv4500 ... ... i want to buy a factory one and rebuild it myself but all i keep finding is auto truck ones ... ... will they work

Starter should be a starter. Go to one of the parts house sites, or call, and see if there's a difference - I doubt it.

Also, no spacer is ever used for 2003-up unless you have a standard output 2003-4 and go to the 6 speed flywheel. All 6 speed block plates 2003-up are thicker at the starter pad instead of using a spacer on the regular thin pad that automatics and 5 speeds use.
