Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) starting problem

When I went to start my truck the other day it wanted to start when I turned the key to the position where the glow plug light usually comes on and goes off. If I let go of the key the truck will keep cranking and start. I think the starter is hanging up too after the truck has started. I replaced the ignition switch and still same problems. Matt

As far as it maybe hanging up, it could be the starter contacts. I replaced mine with these- http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/ Get the plunger also. You should be able to also get the big contacts/plunger from your local starter/alternator repair shop.



It is a very simple job. Hardest part is getting the starter bolts loosened up to pull off starter.
