Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) starwheel stuck?

Hey guys-



pulled the allen bolt off and got a look at the star wheel. I want to do 20 clicks to the engine to increase smoke. whats the best way to turn the wheel, it seems stuck... is 20 clicks good? i got 370s but stock torque plate

Any chance it is already as far as it can go? Can you turn it away from the engine? Maybe you need to slide the plate.

I went 20 clicks and then 10 more and thought that was real good but then I got STUPID and went all the way forward. Man talk about smoke taking off in second gear. So I went back to about 40. The Star Wheel turns hard (not really it's just hard to get the right angle) but just use a narrow blade screw driver.

the allen bolt has never been off the engine, this motor is all stock other than the injectors i just put on. I tried getting a flat screw driver in there and the damn thing wont turn, i put all my pressure on it and the screwdriver just slips off. i dont have enough smoke i need some !

I had the same thing happen to me. I had to take off the AFC housing to get it unstuck.

Are you sure you have 370s? If you don't have enough smoke from those injectors, then you must have quite a lot of air moving through your engine. Everyone I have heard of running 370s has serious smoke as they flow way more fuel than the stock injectors. Why did you do only injectors and not go with a plate and 3k or 4k GSK as well??

BTW, do you think your turbo setup as it is now would be enuff if you had 370s along with your other "modifications"?

You talkin' to me? What "modifications" are you refering to? When I go to 370s, I am also going to be purchasing a PDR HX-40/16 to handle all the added fuel, if that is what you mean by "modifications"? But need $$ first, oh and the wife's permission. :-laf

When I checked my star wheel, it was all the way forward and stuck. I thought If I loosened the AFC housing bolts, would that help - nope, Just used a stronger screwdriver and got it free. I was just at the point of saying "forget it" when I got it to move.
