OK Tire techs, While researching tires I have come across Static Loaded Radius specifications. What is this? What additional info does this provide?

A couple examples that I find confusing.

Previously I had Toyo OCMT 35x12. 50R17E, they have a SLR of 16. 2", these tires listed as 34. 8" tall.

I just purchased Cooper ATR 315/70R17D, they have SLR 16. 1" they list as 34. 35"

Measured on the truck though the old worn out Toyos were down to 32. 6".

The brand new Coopers are only 32. 35.

I am measuring tire height from level ground to the bottom of the axle tube and adding 2inches to get to center x2 for loaded height.

Static load is the tire height from the ground to the center of the axle with the weight of the truck. The bulge on the bottom of the tire makes it shorter then if it was measured while the tire was off the ground.

Tire size is never exact. If you lined up 5 different brands of 35" tires there could be up to a 2" difference in height.
