There was a post on here a while ago stating that there was flash due out the end of august that was going to address the poor shift points in the 68RFE , is it out yet and has anyone had this done yet?

I need to get a fuel filter and oil change soon so I want to wait till this is available.

Thanks!

The word was Cummins was to release the re-flash by late Aug 2014....( I put the post up. Info from a reliable source)..... I'm waiting for one of the mechanics on the board to let us know...

This re-flash is specific to the 68RFE. They changed the shift pattern in 2013, from 2012 and its flare shifts etc. My 2012 68 RFE was great.

S.Morris, Do you happen to have any more details about the Aisin TSB? (Date, time, specific identifier number to narrow down a search) I own a 2014 Laramie CC DRW 6.7L Cummins with Aisin and 4.10 gear. I have had an abrupt 2-1 shift as well, but not enough to be of a concern until you mentioned it here. It almost feels like someone taps my truck from behind as I'm slowing down. I've looked in the mirror on a few occasions. It isn't noticeable when I'm towing. Any more details to pass on to my Service Tech would be greatly appreciated. SBR

Check THIS.

Thanks Bill, It makes perfect sense. (When I can wrap my simple mind around what TransEngineer posted. Sounds to me like he said "BIGGER, BETTER, STRONGER! AHR! AHR! AHR!" like TIM TAYLOR used to say) At least I have a better idea of how to describe it to my Service Tech. At this point, with only 8500 miles, it is only a concern for durability and whether things are wearing in properly. I don't notice anything out of the ordinary when towing, so I'll try to grow accustomed to it's characteristics when running empty. I just needed to be reassured that it is operating like it was designed to. I have paid close attention to the stats to ensure that the truck and the 5th wheel were a match and neither one put a strain on the other. So far, everything seems to be working in unison together as it should. I brag about the towing abilities and fuel mileage of the RAM all the time. SBR

Has anyone seen or heard of the reflash as of yet????? I have seen no info yet on TDR about a re-flash for the 68 RFE ...
