Steel Ricksons verus Forged Aluminum ( not Visions)

I have Steel Ricksons , they are super heavy and not very pretty. I found a set of forged oval hole aluminum Ricksons that could polish up nice and should be lighter. They are not Visions. Any pros or cons on either?

I've heard good things about those, but they are very hard to come by.

No reason not to grab them if it's feasible.

I have been running a set for many years now.
Though I do not keep mine polished like the set you are looking at, they are an EXCELLENT wheel !!!
Rickson stopped making them due to being too expensive, but while they made them, they were very well respected.

I was lucky enough to find a set of dually Rickson forged aluminum wheels earlier this year. I snatched them up and have no regrets. They were very well made. I did have to use different design lug nuts because the wheel flange is thicker than stock and on the dually it mattered.

I also have a set of Rickson steels on my Dodge 2500.

That was my experience. The forged aluminum wheels roll noticeably smoother than the steel wheels. Of course its different truck with different tires.

You might want to start a NEW thread looking for TDR member(s) who might be able to help you with that.
I have seen it happen here before, IIRC even where another member picked up where the first driver left off.

AND you could drive the last leg yourself as necessary once the wheels are closer to you.

I am trying to use pressure sensors in the Forged Ricksons, the valve stem holes are smaller than normal Ram wheel holes and the valve stem sensors will not fit. Anyone fit pressure sensors on Ricksons?

$100's of wheels, polishing compounds on a 9" side grinder and polish,with full body cover, and a supplied air mask some of the areas needed DA air sander work.

BTW I use the Dill TPMS sensors on my forged Ricksons.
I ended up simply drilling out the valve stem hole in the wheel to the proper diameter....the alumium drills easily and removed so little metal I dint; feel there would be ANY adverse effects from doing so.

I only went for a matte finish on mine...I could afford the polishing wheels, but NOT the elbow grease !!! LOL

yea I noticed the small difference and considered drilling the holes, but the tire guy said he would not mount, balance the tires if I modified the rims in any way. I think he doesn't want to deal with my pretty polished wheels and me . Going with the correct semi truck smaller valve stems and sensors that mount with bands , more money but everyone is happy . BTW Dan from Rickson was going make( modify?) some sensors for me , but he is so unreliable, I could be waiting for years before he got to them. So I will use standard off the shelf items , without opening the wheel holes. The question is will the sensors read over 100psi? Will the dash on my 3500 2017 SRW truck read over 99psi, does it have 3 digits?
