I am just getting around to installing my upgraded steering box on my 2001 and am having trouble getting the steering shaft to slide back on the box shaft. I seem to have the flat side lined up correctly, but it will not go on all the way. Any tricks to doing this better? Also, which port does the hard line go into on the box, the one closest to the framerail or the one closest to the engine? Been working on it for 3 hours and forgot within that time. TIA.

Alright, I got the shaft on (remove shaft locking bolt!!! ) but still can't remember which ports the lines go in... ANYBODY?

I would soak it with penetrating oil (PB at Wally world or auto parts stores) or WD 40 but PB is much better for unsticking things. On my 98 you can't get the lines wrong. Same size wrench (17 MM) but where they attach is a different size.
