Is there a kit to repair a leaking steering box ? Mine leaks from the top (looks like ) where the steering shaft enters the box. There looks like a nut there but I realy don't know. If there is a repair for this where can I get the parts?

There is a seal kit from Carquest- seems like it was around $30. Has everything you MIGHT need to fix any leak. THere is nut on top (think the top one is a jambnut, so there are two). Mark where it is now, and count the turns out as you go, so you know how far to turn it when you reinstall it. I went 180deg too far, and ended up having to get a new box. I would recommend taking it off the truck, and putting Loctite on the threads when you put it back on to make sure they stay on there. This is also a good time to change the fluid, as 90% of it will drain out when you unhook the hydraulic lines anyway.

Do you mean the part were the steering shaft actually connects to the steering box???

If so, there is a kit to fix that seal as well as the pitman arm seal.

The DC dealer told me they (the dealer) don't do repairs on them cause more than 50% of them come back within 6 months and are leaking. Because of that they just put on a whole new box.

In my case, I did the seal when I changed to the Borgeson steering shaft. That was about 14 months ago and she's still hangin in there... .

If that is the area you are looking at, I'll try to find the kit part number for you in my truck folder...

Try this number: J8130157. I had the same leak you have on my '92. I had to show the "certified parts man" where the seal was on his computer... . You can do the seal without removing the box from the truck. Removing the roll pin from the steering shaft was a pain... #@$%!

Same problem here, but now my stearing is making noises. I just changed the fluid, but I think it is going south. Oh well if it goes I will have to take it off my parts pickup.
