I recently replaced my steering gear with an AGR unit and so far I'm pretty happy. My question is this: it appears I have a four turn ratio box and most everyone recommends a three turn box. What advantages are there to the three turn and is it worth the trouble to remove and replace?

Thanks,

Michael

If the box is working well, I wouldn't worry about it. Most people feel that the 3 turn boxes are tighter feeling. Also, you can turn the wheels quicker. Other than that, there aren't any advantages.

there was a thread on this a while ago and it made me go check mine. I have the 4 1/4 turn box and I wish I had the 3 turn box. It may not sounds like a lot but that extra turn slows the response and makes the truck seem sluggish compared to the 3 turn box. When it goes out (if it ever does) I would get the 3.
