2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Steering Bracket Question

I have a steering bracket on the way and I need to know what size the original pitman arm nut is and what the new one is so I can purchase wrenches or sockets. My truck is a 96 4x4.



Anyone?

The hex size of the nut is 1 5/16". I purchased a deep, 1/2" sq. dr. , 6-point, impact socket from Snap-On... worked perfectly!



(I didn't want to use my 12-point, 1 5/16" socket on that one. )

John. . Just curious, what color power coating was the socket? Gloss black, or yellow?i

I decided to paint the hex portion of the nut gloss black...



AFTER installation (but before I re-install the brace).



... just for corrosion resistance of course :-laf
