I am working on a friends 99 4wd, when you turn the wheel the brakes self apply!? I have recently replaced the hydroboost and every thing was working fine for about amonth and now it's acting strange. I've searched the posts and could'nt find any answers. Need help! Him and his 35' fifth wheel are at the beach! Any help will be appreciated. thanks

It's not hard to steer but it does make noise like it is low on fluid. The service manual says that it's the hydroboost. I'll checkout the other thread and check the screen and let you know . Thanks Cliff

The brakes self apply? have not heard that one before, have had problems with loosing power brakes when steering, usually accompanied by power steering groan.

same for left & right turns? jack up truck, steer & spin wheels. bad brake hose? wheels hitting? wheels seated flat or play in wheel bearings, ball joints, etc.

Same either way, when you turn the wheel you can watch the brake pedal move! I'm thinking that the hydroboost has gone bad or is partially plugged. I would hate to start changing parts yet, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Anybody Have any other ideas? Thanks again
