Who makes the best steering column mount for holding two gauges. I currently have them in the cubby but the view angle is horrible. I know Geno's sells one but I was wondering if some seem to fit better than others.

I do not know who makes the best but a couple I have seen just slide over the existing column cover, and in my opinoin do not have a clean finished look where it ends. I would check out the new Autometer cubby mount that angles twords the driver. By the way good to meet you on Saturday at the dyno day.

I believe the "source" of all the steering column mount gauge pods for the Ram is Autometer Gaugeworks. I agree with member Bertram65 that the finish doesn't quite meet my desires.

I have been investigating the alternative mounts and gauges and have yet to make my purchase. If I had to decide today I would go with a single "dual gauge" such as SPA Techniques mounted in the stock SRT-10 A-pillar gauge pod which is a direct replacement and is available from Dodge.

Thanks for replies. I have considered the new Autometer faceplate but they only come in a 3 gauge unit and I only have to move two gauges. Maybe I'll have to add fuel pressure.

Bertram65, I too enjoyed the opportunity to meet you and your father. I stuck around to about 4:30. I did manage to grab a couple of rides in some "Bombed" trucks. One ride was in "Torque This's" truck and the other was in "RedHotWeldings" truck. All I can say is WOW and HOLY SMOKE. I do mean HOLY SMOKE in a very literal term.

If you look in my readers rigs, I have put some pictures of my gages in there.

I used the single Autometer mount along with the SRT-10 pillar. The fit of the column mount is very good, but I can tell you a couple of things that you may not like:

1. The mount is Black - my column is a dark Grey. I could have painted it, but...

2. The mount has a cutout for a column shifter. I have a six speed.

The only other change I made was to use three small screws to hold the mount to the column (they are black and size #2 so they are hardly visible) I am happy with the install.

Anyway, that's my 2¢ worth

Juan

If you just stick it onto the stock cover with double sided tape, it does not look very good. However.

If you remove the stock cover, and glue the pod to it, and install it as one piece, it looks real good.

I would show you if I knew how to post pictures.

I have pics in my gallery also. I left the column top on. IMHO install with the column top on. If you don't think you can live with it that way, then remove the column top.
