I recently had a front end collision where my airbags deployed. I am in the process of replacing the airbags and control module. I was reading the service manual and it stated that the steering column should be replaced after airbag deployment. Mine appears to be fine. Any idea if this is something I MUST do?

some columns have like expanded metal that lets them calapse, some the shaft slides and has plastic extruded in the slide that shears. I think that is what they are talking about. I don't know whAt your dodge has but if it didn't collapse in anyway I doubt it needs replacement.
