Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Steering Column Wont Disengage from Park

Hope someone can help with my situation. I have a 1996 Ram 2500 with 186k automatic. The transmission was recently rebuilt with in the pass 2 years. After parking my truck today I went inside to grab a few things when I came outside to run errands the truck started up fine but would not disengage from Park. It feels that the column shifter is sliding from N thru 2. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

There is a slip joint in the shifter adjustment under the truck. Could have worked loose. If you are parked on an incline it will be harder to get out of park. Good luck. bg
