Does anyone happen to know the re-torque numbers for the 2 nuts on the steering drag link(i think thats what its called) it runs front to rear right behind the left front wheel.

I have a new replacement just not sure what to retorque the nuts to... any of you guys with the tech manual could you lend me a hand, going to try and replace it today since its warmed up and our freezing rain has stopped, were supposed to be getting anywhere from 4+ to 8+ inches of snow tomorrow and once i get this bar replaced the only thing left will be the steering shaft im going to order from Borgeson tomorrow...

Thanks

Never mind... I thought you were talking about your 2000.

For most of that stuff I just tighten it. It's probably around 30-35ft/lbs or so. I don't know of many shops that will use a torque wrench for stuff like that.

dont feel bad nate i know have to specify which truck im talking about LOL... i just tightened them down until the bushing started to squish hopefully i didn't over tighten them, i tried to torque them, like most parts up front like that i found out just a minute ago it won't torque unless the grease cover is mashed flat to where it can get some resistance. i will know if a day or 2 if its tight enough or not...

drag link bar

Okay i put the new bar on this evening, got it snugged up, drove to my cousins on a bumpy paved and dirt road to get there, then went to walmart by highway, got home checked the bar nuts just to be sure that nothing had worked loose, so far so good, except the bar is sort of cocked, Is there a wrong way to put one in????, i took the old one out laid it down just like it came off the truck and put the new one back exactly the same way so i know its not in backwards

I replaced the sway bar links on my '00 and one side does the same thing on them i straightened it up with the grease cover and tightened down a little bit more holding the link, i will know when my dad gets back if that worked as he took my Aunt back to Pa. this morning, I just hope he gets back tomorrow safely with this snow thats going to hit.
