I have a 92 2500 ctd 4x4, and a 1982 gasser 4x4, the 92 steering gear box u joint is worn out, question is does anybody know if the splines are the same on the gear boxes? Or where can i get a replacement steering u-joint for the 92 steering gear box. Thanks Guys

Borgson makes a replacement steering shaft assembly, that's suppose to work great, I do not have one on my truck, I must be use to it, but know people that do and only have good things to say. Hope this helps. The last time I checked Summit was selling them for about $189. 00.

I've got a Borgeson

DMalone,

I have a Borgeson on my truck and have had it for 25K. I really like it. If you get one, just be really careful knocking out the roll pin in the old shaft as you can damage the seal in the gear box. The shaft is well made and easy to install. Well worth the $$$.

works for me

i got the Borg. shaft also. works great. One thing I did to keep the salt out was to use a shock boot. I Zip-tied it at the bottom (over the joint , right by the steering gear), and above the lock nut (where the expandable section is). I made sure to use plenty of anti-sieze on the steering gear input shaft. My OEM was welded on thanks to Michigan salt.

Worth the big $$. Summit had them for about $170.
