I just bought a 2011 2500 diesel 4x4 and while bring it home to Montana from California, I pulled off the freeway about 100 miles from home and stepped on the brakes and the pedal went a little closer to the floor then they had the whole trip, Shortly after that I started having a hard time steering the truck at low speeds from a stop or in parking lot situations . the truck has 46000 miles and is super clean, steering is great down the road and all . If I give it just an extra 100 rpm the problem goes away. is there a way to increase low speed p/s pump pressure to keep this from happening, other then this problem popping up I just love this vehicle so far. any advice is much appreciated. could i possibly have some problem happening with the hydroboost also, the P/S fluid reservoir is full already checked that . open to any ideas as to what to check next also all front end components are in excellent shape. this happened all at once. and now does it everytime at very low 550-600 rpm engine speeds

I would say that you are on the right track, the power steering/hydroboost pump would be the most likely culprit since it has effected both the brake and the steering.

Sounds like a hydroboost problem to me since the steering and brakes are both affected. The hydroboost system is all they have in common.

The brakes only acted up one time and have been great ever since the initial wierd pedal. the steering is what is having the problem and only at very low engine speed

Pull the high pressure line from the pump off the Hydroboost and make sure the inner lining did not come loose and restrict the flow.
