Now that i have replaced the steering shaft, steering box and steering pump with all new borgeson parts... I am still having a problem with the steering being tight. The thought between my mechanic and I is the power steering fluid heats up and then the truck becomes very very difficult to turn when stopped or at extremely slow speeds.

I did see a while back that someone added a power steering fluid cooler inline. Hopefully this might be something that i could do as well and this would rectify the issue.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas or similar issues? If so can someone suggest a place to purchase such an item???

thanks

if i remember right they just used a transmission cooler that can be purchased at your local auto parts store. but there might have been pressure or a flow rate problem that the pump had to be opened and corrected.

2001. 5 3500 with same steering problems-- purchased a cooler at summit racing inc--ran it for 4 months-finally disconnected it--it did not solve any problem -though it did cool the fluid more- steering problems on mine were solved with 4 different front end alignments-new shocks-track bar upgrade new borgeson steering box and shaft-6 new michelin tires

add to above--I also replaced hydro-boost --master cylinder--and all hoses and connections-- the hoses looked good on the outside- but were restricted on inside- a

lot of soft black rubber--236539 miles and all seems well
