I have an '03 Quad Cab. I was on my way home from fishing the other night and as I came out of a corner, I could not move the steering wheel back the other way to straighten the truck out. I slammed on the brakes and it all came back. (whew) What a rush!

Took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong. It has done it a few more times. When it happens, I can get steering to go back to normal by turning back the other way for a split sec and then it's okay. It acts like there is something broken that jams up from time to time. It locks up solid. It is now to the point where it is completely unsafe to drive. Before I take it back in, do any of you have an idea I should take with me to the dealer?

Thanks!

Keith

Some posts about the steering stablizer (the shock that dampens) going bad and binding. Other then that its in the steering box.

Is it a 4x4? If so, check the front axle u-joints. I just had mine go out. If the axle stops in the wrong spot, the wheels will not turn. I also felt the front end jerking when turning sharp (like it is in 4 wheel). Good luck. Putting the precision 464s in both sides.

Good luck
